Typography as Percussion
Inspired by the poster work of Ben Vautier and the spirit of French absurdist humor, I treated typography as part of the performance rather than a layer of information.Using Anton and a bold yellow color, the letters become graphic objects within the landscape. As the music builds, they break apart, drift through the frame, and respond to rhythm and camera movement.
The dot above the i in Ulichnaya becomes a character of its own, moving between letters and acting like a visual percussion hit. The result is a title sequence that performs alongside the musicians rather than simply introducing them.
